Sindh Paid Internships Empowering University Students

The interim Sindh Government is taking a commendable step by introducing a paid internship program aimed at nurturing the potential of 200 students enrolled in public sector universities. Spearheaded by the Provincial Department of Human Rights, this initiative seeks to provide invaluable learning experiences for the youth of the region. During a recent meeting with officials from the Department of Human Rights, Barrister Omer Soomro, the Caretaker Law Minister, offered insights into the programs vision. He stressed its specific focus on students pursuing studies in the fields of law and social sciences, with the goal of cultivating a deeper understanding of these vital disciplines.

These promising internship opportunities will be extended to students residing in various divisions, including Karachi, Hyderabad, Mirpurkhas, Larkana, Sukkur, and Shaheed Benazirabad. The Law Minister has confirmed that a formal proposal for the programs implementation will soon be submitted to the interim Chief Minister CM for consideration and approval.

Upon selection, participating students will receive a monthly stipend of Rs.25,000 each, making this program an enticing prospect for those eager to contribute to the cause of human rights. Furthermore, upon successful completion of the program, interns will have the opportunity to attend events addressing a myriad of human rights issues. This enriching experience is set to deepen their knowledge and enhance their active involvement in this crucial field.
