Gujranwala Board Introduces Matric Tech Stream

In a progressive move, the Gujranwala Board of Education has allowed regular students registered in Science or Arts Groups for the academic session 2025–2027 to switch to the newly introduced Matric Tech Group without any additional charges.

This decision was approved in the official board meeting held on June 23, 2025, under agenda item number 20. The initiative targets students who wish to transition to more practical and skill-based education paths.

Schools affiliated with BISE Gujranwala — both government and private — are instructed to process the group change requests through their respective school login portals no later than August 30, 2025. Applications submitted after this deadline will be subject to the usual group change fees.

The Matric Tech Group opens up new possibilities for students seeking technical and vocational training alongside secondary education, enhancing their future employability.

This decision reflects the board’s commitment to educational innovation and adapting to the evolving needs of students and industries.
