Educational Support for Inmates’ Families

During a ceremony at Karachi Central Prison, Education Minister Sardar Ali Shah and Prisons Minister Hasan Ali Zardari announced that 4,684 children of convicted inmates across Sindh will benefit from this initiative. The program ensures that these children receive uninterrupted education despite their parents’ incarceration.

A Unified Effort for Social Uplift

This initiative is a collaborative effort between the education and prisons departments, with support from Paigham-e-Pakistan. The primary objective is to safeguard the educational rights of these children and prevent their circumstances from hindering their academic progress.

Government’s Commitment to Education

Minister Sardar Ali Shah underscored the importance of providing equal opportunities to all children, regardless of their parents status. He affirmed that Sindh is taking a progressive step by ensuring full educational assistance, whether through public or private institutions.

Expanding Educational Access and Rehabilitation

In its initial phase, admission letters have been issued to 100 children, while data collection is underway for an additional 2,638. The program also includes vocational training for juvenile prisoners and financial support for the families of convicted inmates to protect them from financial struggles.

Reforming the Prison System Through Education

Prisons Minister Hasan Ali Zardari highlighted that this initiative is not only about educating children but also about rehabilitating families. By transforming prisons into centers of learning and reform, the government aims to create a lasting positive impact on society.
