Emphasis on Exam Integrity and Transparency
During a recent Sindh Cabinet session, the Chief Minister voiced concerns about the consequences of exam paper leaks, emphasizing that such incidents damage reputations and endanger students’ futures. I am dedicated to achieving transparency in all exams, including MDCAT, he affirmed.
Background of MDCAT in Sindh
The cabinet was informed that since the 2017-18 academic year, MDCAT has been conducted annually in Sindh, with examination centers set up in Karachi, Hyderabad, Nawabshah, Sukkur, and Larkana. The recent paper leak led to the matter being taken to the High Court, where the issue is under review.
Transition of Responsibility to IBA Sukkur
The Institute of Business Administration IBA in Karachi has opted to step back from managing the MDCAT due to the recent issues. Consequently, IBA Sukkur has been tasked with taking over the full organization and administration of the exam.
Timeline for the Rescheduled MDCAT
The MDCAT retake is planned to occur within the next six weeks, allowing students to reattempt the exam under more secure and transparent conditions
