Phase II of the Honhar Scholarship Program Officially Launch

Punjab’s Chief Minister, has launched Phase II of the Honhar Scholarship Program, aimed at supporting the education of 30,000 students each year for the next four years. The students can get latest updates of Phase II of the Honhar Scholarship Program Officially Launched.
Purpose and Eligibility Criteria for the Scholarships
During the ceremony at FAST National University of Computer and Engineering Sciences in Islamabad, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif explained that the scholarship program is designed to help talented students pursue higher education without the burden of financial constraints. The program will cover educational expenses for students enrolled in 65 universities, 12 medical and dental colleges, and 359 colleges across Punjab. Students pursuing studies in 68 different disciplines are eligible for the scholarship, provided they are under 22 years old, hold a Punjab domicile, and have parents with a monthly income below Rs 300,000.
Selection Process and Transparency
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz emphasized the transparency of the scholarship distribution process, noting that the entire application process was conducted online. The scrutiny of applications was carried out by a provincial-level committee and institutional committees, with the entire process overseen by a steering committee headed by Senior Provincial Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb.
Scholarship Distribution and Key Achievements
The Chief Minister also highlighted key milestones of the program, including the initial scholarship ceremony at the University of Punjab, where 2,473 scholarships were awarded. Another distribution event took place at FAST University Islamabad, benefiting 2,570 students from the Rawalpindi division. Additionally, 1,886 scholarships were granted to students at UET Lahore. Out of the total scholarships distributed, 1,660 were awarded to students in public-sector universities, and 637 were given to students from private-sector institutions.
