FDE Grade 1 to 9 Promotion Policy

Federal Directorate of Education has opted the Uniform Promotion Policy for one to nine classes for the annual exams 2022 for the schools and colleges located in Islamabad capital territory. FDE has issued the notification regarding FDE Grade 1 to 9 Promotion Policy under promotion policy for class I & II and students will be promoted to the next class on the basis of this policy but not on the basis of their result. But FDE manages the exams of all classes on the regular routine and their result will be prepared on which the criteria will be built up.

FDE Class III to IV Promotion Policy

The students will follow FDE Class III to IV promotion policy and they will fulfill following criteria for the promotion of the students to the next grades.

• The minimum pass percentage in each subject is 40%
• Failing in one or two subjects in case of overall aggregate percentage is 40%
• Failing in more than two subjects will be detained.

FDE Class V to IX Promotion Policy

In the promotion policy, class 5 to 9 subjects have been divided into two categories:

Class V Category – I
• Math, English and General Science

Class V Category – II
• Islamiyat, Urdu and Social Studies

Class VI to VIII Category – I
• Math, English and General Science

Class VI to VIII Category – II
• History, Geography, Islamiyat, Urdu, Computer science and elective subjects.

According to class VI & VII promotion policy in category A, the students may fulfill following criteria to be promoted to next grades:

• The minimum passing percentage in each subject is 40%
• Failing in any one subject of either category with 15% marks with overall aggregate of 40%
• Failing in two subjects, one from each category with 15% marks with overall aggregate of 40%
• Failing in two subjects of category 2 with 15% marks in both subjects with overall aggregate of 40%
• Failing in two subjects of category 1 will be detained.

In promotion policy for class 5 to 8 in category B, the minimum passing percentage for external exams / centralized exams 2022 administered by FDE for class 5 and 8 will be 35% for each subject.
