British Council Released Marking Formula for Cancelled Paper
In light of the tense situation in Pakistan, the British Council has released a formula for awarding marks to students whose examination papers have been cancelled. While Cambridge has stated that none of the cancelled exams can be rescheduled for the June 2023 series, they have assured candidates that they have a well-established special consideration process in place for releasing results in such situations.
Candidates whose exams have been cancelled can still receive their results if they have completed at least 15% of the total assessment and sat for at least one eligible component in the June 2023 examination series. A-level candidates must have sat for at least one A2-level component to receive a full A-level result. The British Council understands that candidates may have questions and concerns about the process.
The British Council has cancelled the examinations scheduled for 10 and 11 May due to the developing and insecure situation in the country, with the safety of candidates and staff being their top priority. They express gratitude towards candidates for their understanding and continued support during this challenging time.
