All Universities Starts Online Classes from 01 June
Due to Coronavirus pandemic across Pakistan, there is complete lockdown in all cities of Pakistan and the educational institutes are closed down till 31 May 2020 and in case of continuation of the lockdown, the schools, colleges and universities will remain close. The students are asked to stay in their home to avoid the thread of COVID-19 pandemic and now the educational institutes have started their online classes so that the students remain busy in their academic activities while staying in their homes. Higher Education Commission has already issued the orders to all universities to start the online classes of their students to avoid loss of the year of the students. Now HEC has devised the strategies to resume the online classes for the students all over the country and the students start getting education and learning their studies. All Universities Starts Online Classes from 01 June.
The HEC came to know that there is poor or no connectivity in some areas of the country and the government and HEC are trying their best to contact with the service providers to settle this issue so that the students can participate in their online classes. The HEC has also signed an agreement with all telecom companies to devise the special offers of data bundle for the students at the affordable prices.
It is also reported that most of the students do not attend the online classes because they do not have smart phones to run the internet. Now HEC is going to make the policy to provide the smart phones to such students so that they can resume their online classes. HEC issued the directives to the universities to provide the data of such students.
Starting of Online Classes
HEC is well aware with the problems, which are linked with online classes and these problems are included with faculty training, internet coverage, online system, connectivity and electricity. Now HEC has made the 8 steps plan to solve these issues of the quality and connectivity issues.
HEC issued orders to such universities, which has well-built learning management system to start their classes online. These universities have no connectivity issues and their online education system is extraordinary. The universities, which are facing the problems including technological, technical or spatial limitations, they need to devise the plan, acquire, train and deploy the LMS. If the lockdown situation is persisting in the country, these universities will start their online classes from 01 June 2020 in order to provide the education online in order to save the precious year of the students.
