Winter Vacation Dates for Islamabad Schools & Colleges

According to the academic calendar for the 2024-25 academic year, schools and colleges in Islamabad will be closed for winter vacation from December 28, 2024, to January 12, 2025. This applies to all institutions under the Federal Directorate of Education FDE, including both public and private schools and colleges in the capital. The two-week break is set to give students and faculty a pause during the coldest period of the season. Meanwhile, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa KP government has also released the winter vacation schedule for educational institutions across the province for the 2024-25 session. A notification issued by the Elementary and Secondary Education Department on December 16, 2024, outlined the following dates:

Plain Areas: December 22–31, 2024 a 10-day break.

Hilly/Snowy Areas: December 22, 2024 – February 28, 2025 a two-month break.
