Sindh Proposes November 19 for MDCAT Retake

The Sindh government has recommended November 19 as the rescheduled date for the Medical and Dental College Admission Test MDCAT. Dr. Saad Khalid Niaz, the interim Health Minister, disclosed this information during a press conference. Notably, there will be no extra fees imposed on the students for this retake. Dr. Niaz mentioned that November 19 has been suggested to the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council PMDC for the reexamination, and the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has also endorsed this date.
Moreover, Dr. Saad Khalid Niaz extended his apologies to the students and their parents for the disruptions caused by the recent MDCAT controversy.
Its essential to recall that the MDCAT test conducted by Jinnah Sindh Medical University JSMU on September 10 was compromised as the paper leaked a few hours before the exam. Subsequently, the Sindh government formed a committee to investigate the matter.
Following the committees findings, it was recommended to conduct the MDCAT again. In line with this recommendation, the caretaker Chief Minister ordered the reorganization of the examination, entrusting the task to Dow University of Health Sciences DUHS.
The caretaker Minister has assured that strict action will be taken against all those involved in the paper leak, including the vice chancellor of JSMU. Further steps will be taken based on the detailed report provided by the Federal Investigation Agency FIA.
"The agencys role is to uncover specific actionable information, which we currently lack," he stated. Additionally, the inquiry committee pointed out performance shortcomings at JSMU.
