Schools, Colleges & Universities Reopen from 15 Sep

Islamabad, The meeting of the Federal and Provincial Education Ministers was conducted today on 07 September 2020 and it was decided during the meeting that all of the schools, colleges and universities all over the country will be reopened from 15 September. The federal education Minister chaired the meeting and all of the provincial education ministers attended the meeting through video link and in this meeting, the chairman and Executive Director of HEC also ensured their participation. The health department officials briefed the participants of the meeting and in the light of this briefing, the decision for the reopening of the educational institutes in three stages, was made. The 9th, matric, colleges and universities classes will be opened in the first stage from 15 September and during this period the situation of the coronavirus will be viewed and after taking the view of this situation, 6th to 8th classes will be restarted during the second stage from 23 September. In the third and final stage, 1st to 5th classes will be started in the schools and the academic activities will be allowed to start. During the process of reopening and start of the classes, the coronavirus pandemic SOPs will be adhered strictly in the schools, colleges and university and it will mandatory for the students to wear the face masks.
It is decided to submit the recommendations of this meeting to the NCOC, which will accord the approval of this final decision. During this meeting, the issue relating to the equal curriculum was also discussed and the establishment of the anti harassment bodies in Federal Directorate of Education in the provinces was also considered. During the meeting, the matter of the reopening of the schools as well as finalizing the SOPs was also made. It was announced last month for the reopening of the educational institutes all over the country from 15 September. The matter was subjected to the NCOC recommendations and the approval of the Inter Provincial Education Minister council.
