Schools & Colleges in Punjab New Timings Amid Heatwave

>Health Department Punjab warned the educational institutes of Punjab to make proper arrangements to protect their students from the severe heat wave, which hit Pakistan. The department issued advisory to all concerned to take appropriate action to avoid this heat wave. They also recommended the opening and closing of schools and colleges earlier than the normal timings.

The department asked the educational institutes to announce Schools & Colleges in Punjab New Timings Amid Heatwave. The schools and colleges should stop the sports activities till the finishing of this heat wave. The students should sit in their classrooms, where proper ventilation is provided to them. The department said that the emergency help desks should be set up in order to provide first aid to the affected students by the scorching heat. The students should avoid walking in the open sun and take proper arrangements of use of umbrella and clothes on their heads in order to avoid the severe sunshine especially at mid day.  

Pakistan Meteorological Department PMD warned that the temperature will remain higher than normal during this week. The temperature in Islamabad, KPK, Upper Punjab, AJK and Gilgit-Baltistan will remain from 7 to 9ᵒC higher than normal. The temperature in Central and Central Sindh, Southern and Central Punjab and most parts of Baluchistan will remain 6 to 8ᵒC higher than normal.
