The Inspector General of Police IG has announced educational scholarships totaling Rs12.5 million for the children of police martyrs across various districts, including Lahore. These scholarships aim to support the higher education of the children of brave officers who lost their lives in the line of duty.

Distribution of Scholarships

Out of the total amount, Rs2 million has been allocated specifically for the children of police martyrs from Lahore, while the remaining funds will be distributed among the families of martyrs from other districts. This initiative covers various police formations, including the Punjab Highway Patrol PHP, traffic police, special branch, Punjab Constabulary, Counter Terrorism Department CTD, and Telecommunication units.

Commitment to Welfare

The IG emphasized the police department’s commitment to the welfare of its employees’ families, stating that nearly Rs1 billion will be allocated this year for the educational support of police employees’ children. This substantial investment reflects the department’s dedication to honoring the sacrifices made by police officers and ensuring their children can pursue higher education.

Comprehensive Support for Families

The scholarships are part of a broader effort to provide comprehensive support to the families of police personnel, recognizing the critical role these families play in supporting the officers’ service and sacrifices. The educational scholarships are expected to significantly ease the financial burden on the families, allowing the children to focus on their studies and future careers.

By offering these educational scholarships, the police department not only honors the memory of fallen officers but also ensures that their children have the opportunity to achieve their academic and professional goals. This initiative underscores the department’s unwavering commitment to the welfare and future success of the families of police martyrs.
