Punjab Revamps Matric & Inter Exam Grading System

Punjab Board Committee of Chairmen has introduced a revised 10-point grading system for matriculation and intermediate students, as reported by TV Channel on Wednesday. Under this new system, students academic performance will be evaluated using grades and GPA instead of traditional numerical marks. The students can get the latest updates that Punjab Implements New Grading System for Matric and Inter Exams.
Additionally, the term Unsatisfactory will replace Fail, and the minimum passing percentage will be increased from 33% to 40%. The rollout will take place in two phases:
Phase 1 2026: Grades will be introduced for students in classes 9 and 11.
Phase 2 2027: The grading system will be extended to classes 10 and 12.
Officials believe this transition will help reduce competition over marks and encourage students to focus on overall academic improvement.
