Punjab Education Department to Privatize Nearly 3000 Schools

The Punjab Education Department has officially started the process to privatize 2,903 government schools as part of the third phase of its privatization plan, as reported by the electronic channel. Schools Set for Privatization
This phase will focus on outsourcing schools with at least 100 students and two teachers, as well as upgraded high schools. In addition, middle and high schools without any teachers will also be included in the privatization effort.
Previous Phases of Privatization
In the first and second phases of the privatization initiative, a substantial number of schools were already outsourced. The first phase saw 5,863 schools privatized, followed by 4,453 schools in the second phase.
Projected Impact of the Third Phase
By the conclusion of the third phase, approximately 13,000 schools will be privatized. After this process is completed, only 35,000 government schools will remain under the control of the Punjab government.
