Pakistan and China to Launch Technical Education Centers

In a significant development aimed at enhancing bilateral cooperation in education, Pakistans Secretary of Education, Mohyuddin Ahmad Wani, held an important meeting with a Chinese delegation headed by Wang Dang, Chairman of CIIC Technology Group Co. Ltd. The meeting took place at the Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training and was attended by senior Pakistani officials, including Joint Secretary Sohail Akhtar and Executive Director of NAVTTC, Muhammad Aamir Jan. Wani emphasized that the Ministry has declared an education emergency and is undertaking comprehensive reforms focused on access, infrastructure development, teacher capacity building, and student nutrition, in collaboration with various government departments.

CIIC Plans to Set Up Skill-Based Training Centers Across Pakistan

Expressing strong interest in contributing to Pakistan’s education landscape, Mr. Wang Dang revealed CIIC’s proposal to establish technical and vocational training centers in various regions of Pakistan. The primary goal is to prepare youth with employable skills aligned with the growing needs of Chinese enterprises under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor CPEC. Mr. Wang also appreciated Pakistan’s proactive approach to education reform and reaffirmed CIIC’s intention to support this transformation.

As a key outcome of the discussion, both parties agreed to organize a bilateral meeting between the education ministers of Pakistan and China. This high-level engagement aims to accelerate the process of establishing CIIC-led technical training institutes, which are expected to play a vital role in preparing Pakistan’s workforce for future challenges.

Secretary Wani shared a series of modern initiatives the Ministry has introduced, including disaster preparedness for educational infrastructure, a School Meals Program to tackle malnutrition, and the Pink Bus initiative to promote girls’ education in regions like Gilgit-Baltistan and Islamabad. These projects are part of a broader educational reform agenda shaped by a Prime Minister-led task force committed to long-term progress and inclusive learning.

Wang Dang outlined CIIC’s broad experience in education and talent development. Established in 1987 and headquartered in Beijing, the China International Intellectech Group operates in over 300 Chinese cities and offers services in human resources and intellectual support. The meeting concluded with mutual agreement on deepening educational cooperation to support national growth and regional connectivity through skill development.
