The retake of the Medical and Dental College Admission Test MDCAT 2024 in Islamabad has been postponed following a planned protest by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf PTI on November 24, according to News. Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto Medical University SZABMU has rescheduled the test for Sunday, December 8. Initially, SZABMU had announced the retake for November 24 after receiving directives from the Islamabad High Court IHC.
The IHC had ordered a retake of the MDCAT 2024 for candidates in Islamabad and Azad Jammu and Kashmir AJK after declaring the original results invalid. The court highlighted that the test paper was beyond the specified syllabus, necessitating a fair reevaluation.
In its October decision, Justice Arbab Muhammad Tahir instructed the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council PMDC and SZABMU to conduct the new test within a month. The ruling underscored the importance of adhering to the prescribed syllabus and ensuring equitable treatment for applicants from Islamabad.
