Sindh Education Minister Sardar Shah reported that 14,000 schools in the province lack drinking water facilities, and 38 primary schools in Karachi are without washrooms. During the Sindh Assembly session, Shah mentioned the ongoing challenge of maintaining school infrastructure, pointing out that solar panels installed in schools are often stolen soon after installation. The students and teachers will check the complete updates of Infrastructure Deficiencies in Sindh Schools.

Bipartisan Efforts for Improvement

Opposition leader Ali Khursheedi, speaking at the same session, stressed the importance of addressing educational issues beyond political lines and expressed his willingness to collaborate for better outcomes. The session, led by Jameel Soomro, started 30 minutes late and saw the approval of the Gorakh Hill Amendment Bill.

Focus on Key Concerns

The assembly devoted considerable time to discussing the pressing issue of gas load shedding in Sindh. Additionally, concerns about Karachis water shortage were highlighted through an attention notice, drawing significant attention during the proceedings.

Enhancing Public Transportation

Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon reiterated the government’s dedication to improving transportation in Karachi. He announced the introduction of the People’s Bus Service in Manghopir and outlined plans to extend bus services across all areas of Sindh. Memon also spoke about the launch of new routes and the expansion of routes for electric buses.

Navigating Economic Hurdles

Acknowledging the severe economic challenges, Memon described the current situation as an "inflation storm." Despite these economic pressures, the government is determined to enhance infrastructure and services throughout Sindh, with a focus on both education and transportation improvements.
