HED Private Universities Admission Ban

Lahore, Higher Education Department Lahore took action against 18 private universities across Punjab to grant admissions to the aspirants in different disciplines. It is added that these private sector universities and degree awarding institutes did not follow the instructions of the HED and they started their unapproved and unauthorized programs and disciplines. The courses of some of the disciplines are not approved. Some of the universities have set up their unauthorized campuses and they start giving education to the candidates. Some of the private universities set up medical and dental faculties or started their engineering and technology disciplines but they did not get approval from the respective authorized entities like PMDC or PEC.
Now the higher education department Punjab asked these private universities and degree awarding institutes to send the requests for authorization or the regularization of unauthorized programs or their campuses to the PHED before 26 September 2018. HED asked the managements of these private universities and educational institutes to get approved their programs, which were declared unapproved or unauthorized.
The private universities and degree awarding institutes are comprised of the UCP Lahore, UMT Lahore, University of Faisalabad, NCBA&E, HITEC University Taxila, Imperial College of Business Studies, Hajvery University, UoW, Wah Cantt, Institute of Southern Punjab, Multan, University of Lahore, Superior Colleges, USA Lahore, Minhaj University Lahore, Lahore Leeds University, Beaconhouse National University, and Lahore garrison University. These private universities can start their programs once again after getting the approval from the concerned authorities.
