The Higher Education Commission HEC has announced the schedule for the LAW Graduate Assessment Test LAW-GAT 2023. This test is a prerequisite for LLB graduates who intend to seek Bar Council Registration. The LAW-GAT test is scheduled to take place on August 13, 2023. Registration Process for HEC Law GAT 2023:

To be eligible for the Law Graduate Assessment Test, candidates must hold a Bachelors degree in Law or an equivalent qualification from a university recognized by the HEC/PBC. Online applications can be submitted through the HEC website. Candidates are advised to provide a valid email address and mobile number during the application process. A week before the test, registered applicants can download their Roll Number Slips from the aforementioned website. Registered candidates will receive email/SMS notifications regarding the test date, time, and venue. It is important to note that a printout of the Roll Number Slip and the original CNIC are required for entry into the Test Centre. The last date to apply for HEC Law GAT 2023 is August 01, 2023.

Eligibility Criteria for HEC Law GAT 2023:

Candidates who have successfully completed a Bachelors degree in Law from a university recognized by the HEC and PBC are eligible to apply for the Law Graduate Assessment Test.

Selection of Test Centre and Test Format:

Applicants have the option to select their preferred Test Centre from the list provided in the application form. A minimum of 250 applicants must choose a particular Centre for the test to be conducted there. Once a Test Centre is selected, it cannot be changed after registration. The Law-GAT test will consist of Multiple Choice Questions MCQs and is designed to assess the knowledge and understanding of law graduates.

HEC will administer the law admission test in the following cities:

Islamabad
Lahore 
Karachi
Sukkur 
Abbottabad
Quetta 
Multan
Hyderabad
Turbat
Bahawalpur
Peshawar
Muzaffarabad
Faisalabad
Gilgit

The applicants may select any test center of their choice, which are mentioned in their application forms. If minimum 250 applicants will select the test centers then the law admission test will be conducted in that test center.

Registration Process and Fee Payment:

To register for the HEC Law Graduate Assessment Test, candidates should visit the link for online registration. In case of any difficulties during the online registration process, applicants can seek guidance from onlinehelp.hec.gov.pk, HEC Secretariat, or HEC Regional Centers. The application submission involves two steps: profile completion through the "My Profile" section and application submission using the "Law Graduate Assessment Test" link on the online portals menu panel. It is important to note that only submitted applications will be considered for the Law-GAT Test, while applications in save or incomplete mode will not be entertained. The test fee of Rs. 3000/- can be deposited via various payment methods, including 1Link 1Bill invoice participating banks, ATMs, internet banking, mobile banking, Easypaisa, JazzCash, or Upaisa.

Important Instructions and Requirements:

Once the test fee is deposited through 1Link 1Bill Invoice, candidates should click on "Verify Online Payment" on the ETC Dashboard. The test fee is non-refundable and non-transferable. Candidates are advised to resolve any queries or complaints before the closure of the web registration portal. On the test day, candidates must bring a printout of the paid fee receipt via 1Link, along with the Roll Number Slip and original CNIC or original passport. Failure to present these documents will result in the candidate being denied entry to the test center. The Law-GAT test requires a minimum score of 50% for a candidate to pass. Applicants will have a maximum of three chances to clear the Law-GAT test, as per the Rules and Regulations of the PBC. HEC conducts the test thrice a year to accommodate candidates.
