CM Punjab Introduces New Merit-Based Scholarship Program
The registration process for the newly launched ‘Punjab Honahar Merit Scholarship’ program commenced on Monday, providing financial assistance to students across Punjab. This initiative will offer scholarships to 30,000 students each year, covering 68 academic fields. Scholarship Program to Support Thousands of Students
Students from 50 public universities, 16 medical colleges, and 131 graduate colleges will benefit from the program. Over the next four years, the government will distribute 130 billion rupees, aiming to assist 120,000 students with financial support during this period.
Program Approved and Expanded by CM
The ‘Punjab Honahar Merit Scholarship’ was approved by Punjab Chief Minister in July. She also directed an increase in the number of scholarships, ensuring broader access to financial aid for students pursuing higher education.
Full Tuition Coverage for Eligible Students
During a recent Higher Education Department meeting, CM announced that the scholarships will cover the full tuition fees for students enrolled in BS degree programs at public universities, as well as in eight selected private institutions.
