Spring Break Enhancement in KPK Schools

In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, schools are extending their spring break to include the Eid holidays. Consequently, educational institutions across the region will resume classes on April 15th. The Elementary and Higher Education Department has issued notifications instructing both government and private schools to observe Eid holidays, extending the closure until April 13th Saturday. This extension comes as schools were already closed for the spring recess starting from April 1st. Consequently, the commencement of new academic sessions has been postponed. Reasons Behind the Extended Spring Recess
The extended spring recess is primarily attributed to the delay in the availability of free textbooks, which are yet to be provided by the provincial government to the students. This delay has led to the passing of the scheduled start of the new academic year.
Previous Notifications and Administrative Measures
Previously, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government had announced spring vacations for all public and private educational institutions from April 1st to April 8th. During this period, principals, head teachers, and clerical staff were directed to oversee the distribution of free textbooks and ensure the smooth continuation of the admission process for new students as part of the enrolment campaign.
