Sindh Govt End Fees for Karachi Inter Board Students

In a major relief for students, the Sindh government has decided to eliminate all examination fees for class XI and XII students associated with the Karachi Inter Board from the academic year 2017–18 through 2023–24. This decision was finalized during a session of the Finance Sub-Committee of the Sindh Cabinet, which included officials Nasir Hussain Shah and Zia Lanjar. Seven Years of Student Exam Fees Covered by Provincial Funds
To fulfill this commitment, the committee approved a payment of Rs1.27 billion to clear the remaining dues owed to the Karachi Inter Board. Earlier, Rs2.89 billion had already been disbursed, bringing the total amount allocated for this purpose to Rs4.16 billion — the full cost of student fees over the seven-year period.
According to official figures, approximately 692,000 students were enrolled with the board during this time, and 1.213 million exam sittings took place. The governments move guarantees that these students will not be required to pay any fees for past examinations.
