The Sindh Education Department has taken significant steps to support and empower government teachers through a new scholarship program and a licensing policy. Scholarship Program for Higher Education:

The Sindh Education Department has launched a scholarship program to facilitate teachers in pursuing higher education. The program offers a 50 percent discount on B.Ed degree programs, encouraging teachers to enhance their teaching qualifications. Additionally, teachers with a B.Ed degree will become eligible for government promotions. Furthermore, teachers enrolling in Ph.D. programs will have the flexibility to pay their fees in installments.

Opportunities at the Institute of Business Management IoBM:

Government teachers can now enroll in the prestigious Institute of Business Management IoBM University. This collaboration provides teachers with an excellent opportunity to broaden their knowledge and expertise. Teachers who hold B.Ed degrees will be granted early promotions, acknowledging their commitment to professional development.

Teachers Licensing Policy for Legal Protection:

To ensure legal protection and recognition of educators, the Sindh cabinet has approved a comprehensive teachers licensing policy. This policy will establish a framework for licensing, training, and career advancement of teachers. As part of this initiative, two teachers training institutes will be transferred to the Sindh Teachers Education Development Authority STEDA. Moreover, a dedicated board will be formed to oversee training programs and issue licenses.

Professional Licensing and Career Advancement:

Obtaining a B.Ed or M.Ed degree will be a prerequisite for acquiring a professional license. License holders will then be eligible to apply for Grade 16 positions. However, additional training will be required for further promotions. The STEDA board, chaired by the Minister for Education and comprising high-ranking department officials, will play a crucial role in issuing licenses and overseeing the training process.
