Closure of Schools and Alarming Pneumonia Statistics
Chief Minister Naqvi conveyed that schools throughout Punjab will remain closed for an additional week. During an emergency meeting at Children’s Hospital in Lahore, he disclosed that a concerning 80% of children are reportedly suffering from pneumonia. Notably, a significant portion of the affected children are infants under six months old, adding urgency to the decision.
Change in Previous Statement on Winter Holidays
It is noteworthy that earlier this week, Naqvi had previously stated that there would be no further extensions to winter holidays for schools and colleges in Punjab.
