PMDC Raises Entry Requirements for MBBS & BDS Admission 2025

The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council PMDC has revised its admission criteria, raising the minimum qualifying marks for students aiming to pursue MBBS and BDS degrees. Under the new guidelines, students must now achieve at least 65% in their Intermediate Pre-Medical or equivalent exams, an increase from the previous 60% . This policy adjustment, detailed in an official statement by PMDC Registrar Dr. Shaista, will come into effect for students applying in the 2025–2026 academic year. Only those meeting this new academic standard will be permitted to appear for the Medical and Dental College Admission Test MDCAT.
New Admission Rules Introduced for MBBS and BDS Candidates
The updated policy also specifies that candidates must sit for the MDCAT in the province or area of their domicile. For Pakistani students residing overseas, the exam will only be administered at the designated international center located in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
