Criteria for Ranking
QS uses five components to rank universities or institutes in the World University Subject Rankings:
Academic Reputation
Employer Reputation
Research Citations in each paper
H-Index
International Research Network
The first two factors are international surveys of academics and employers used to assess the international reputation of institutes in each subject. The next two factors are used to evaluate the research impact and h-index for the relevant subject. They determine the impact and productivity of the research work of students and scholars. Scopus, the worlds most comprehensive research citation database, provides data for these two indicators. The last indicator is used to check the international research collaboration of any university.
