Nankana Sahib Declare 5 Day School off for Baisakhi Festival

In a recent announcement, the district administration of Nankana Sahib has confirmed a five-day holiday for all schools in the district to mark the Baisakhi festival. From April 12 to April 16, educational institutions will remain closed in light of the celebrations, coinciding with the arrival of Sikh pilgrims from India. The information is updated that Nankana Sahib Declares Five-Day School Break for Baisakhi Festival.
The school closure is aimed at facilitating the management of the event and ensuring enhanced security during the festivities. A formal directive has been issued, confirming the suspension of classes district-wide. The main Baisakhi events are planned for April 14, with preparations already in full swing.
In order to maintain public safety, over 2,000 police personnel will be deployed throughout the district, as outlined in the security plan developed by the District Police Officer DPO. While the Pakistan-India religious tourism agreement typically permits 3,000 Sikh pilgrims, this years demand has surpassed 7,000, prompting the Pakistani High Commission in New Delhi to request additional visas.
To accommodate the influx of visitors and minimize traffic disruptions, the school closures will help improve event management and coordination across the district.
