KP School Timing Schedule for Govt Schools & Colleges

The Directorate of Elementary & Secondary Education DESE in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Peshawar, has officially released a new timetable for the operational hours of government schools and colleges. This schedule is applicable to all institutions across the province, ensuring uniformity for students, teachers, and parents. The guidelines below outline the revised timing structure to be followed. School Hours KG to Class XII

The daily schedule for primary, middle, high, and higher secondary schools has been clearly defined, with adjustments made for Fridays, where fewer periods are allocated compared to other weekdays. This breakdown applies to all government schools:

Primary Schools: 7 periods on regular days.
Middle/High/Higher Secondary Schools: 8 periods on regular days.
Higher Secondary School Intermediate Section: 6 periods on regular days.
Friday Schedule: 5 periods for all schools.

Duration of Each Period

Each academic level has been assigned specific durations for periods and school activities:

Primary Schools: Each period lasts 35 minutes.
Middle/High/Higher Secondary Schools: Each period lasts 40 minutes.
Primary School Assembly: 15 minutes.
Middle/High/Higher Secondary Assembly: 10 minutes.

Additional Activities and Breaks

The new schedule includes time allotted for religious and personal activities:

Nazra Quran Recitation: 15 minutes in all schools.
Break for Primary Schools: 30 minutes.
Break for Middle/High/Higher Secondary Schools: 20 minutes.

Summer Schedule April 1, 2024 - September 30, 2024

During the summer season, the following timetable will be followed by all schools, from primary to higher secondary, across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa:

Morning Assembly & Moral Lessons: 7:30 am to 7:40 am.
Nazra Quran: 7:40 am to 7:55 am.
1st Period: 7:55 am to 8:35 am.
2nd Period: 8:35 am to 9:15 am.
3rd Period: 9:15 am to 9:55 am.
4th Period: 9:55 am to 10:35 am.
5th Period: 10:35 am to 11:15 am.
Break: 11:15 am to 11:35 am.
6th Period: 11:35 am to 12:15 pm.
7th Period Middle/High Schools: 12:15 pm to 12:55 pm.
8th Period Middle/High Schools: 12:55 pm to 1:35 pm.

Winter Schedule October 1, 2024 - March 31, 2025

The winter timetable has been adjusted for the colder months and includes the following changes for all academic levels:

Morning Assembly & Moral Lessons: 8:15 am to 8:25 am.
Nazra Quran: 8:25 am to 8:40 am.
1st Period: 8:40 am to 9:20 am.
2nd Period: 9:20 am to 10:00 am.
3rd Period: 10:00 am to 10:40 am.
4th Period: 10:40 am to 11:20 am.
5th Period: 11:20 am to 12:00 pm.
Break: 12:00 pm to 12:20 pm.
6th Period: 12:20 pm to 1:00 pm.
7th Period Middle/High Schools: 1:00 pm to 1:40 pm.
8th Period Middle/High Schools: 1:40 pm to 2:20 pm.
