The Al-Khidmat Educational Assistance Program is a vital initiative designed to provide financial aid to deserving students across Pakistan. The program supports students pursuing Intermediate, undergraduate, postgraduate, and DAE Diploma courses, with the aim of helping those from underprivileged backgrounds access higher education. As one of the largest educational welfare programs in the country, it aims to reduce financial hardships for students committed to their studies. The deadline to submit applications for the 2024 Al-Khidmat Academic Scholarship is October 31, 2024. The students can note the complete updates regarding Al-Khidmat Educational Assistance Program: Supporting Students in Need.
The program offers scholarships to students enrolled in Intermediate/FA FSc, DAE, Bachelor’s BS, and postgraduate programs. In return for the financial aid, recipients are encouraged to contribute by sponsoring a student in need once they graduate and secure employment. This pay-it-forward model helps create a continuous cycle of support, allowing more students to benefit in the future. The repayment process is made manageable with flexible monthly installments.
Application and Selection Process
The application process involves a thorough evaluation of each student’s financial status, verified by independent assessments conducted by Al-Khidmat officials. This ensures that the scholarship is awarded only to those who are genuinely in need of financial support. The final decision on the awardees is made by the executive committee, and the entire selection process typically takes up to three months. Due to the limited availability of funds, the selection process is competitive, with criteria based on academic performance, family income, and the number of dependents in the applicant’s household.
