Comprehensive Curriculum for Medico-Legal Excellence
The Medico-Legal Examination course offered by UHS comprises an extensive curriculum that encompasses a wide range of subjects. These subjects include Toxicology, Traumatology, Autopsy procedures, Medical Law, Ethics, Medico-Legal Report Writing, Identification techniques, Sample Handling, Preservation protocols, and Electronic Data Management.
Training Centers and Partnerships
To facilitate this pioneering program, several healthcare institutions have been selected as training centers. These include the Forensic Medicine Department at Jinnah Campus UHS, Services Hospital Lahore, Jinnah Hospital Lahore, Lahore General Hospital, and the Punjab Forensic Science Agency PFSA.
Ambitious Training Targets
The Punjab government has set ambitious goals for the program, aiming to train 400 individuals over the next two years. Each training batch will consist of 40 candidates per month. Participants will be required to complete logbook assignments and submit portfolios for evaluation as part of the certification examination, ensuring a high level of competence in medico-legal practice.
