UAE Excels in Times Young University Rankings 2023


Times Higher Education Young University Rankings 2023 has recognized the achievements of nine universities from the United Arab Emirates UAE. Among them, six universities secured positions within the top 250, while the remaining three were assigned the status of reporter due to not meeting all of THEs eligibility criteria for ranking. The UAE University emerges as the leader among Emirati universities in the Young University Rankings 2023, setting an exemplary standard in education and research. The Young University Rankings feature the worlds best universities that are 50 years old or younger. To evaluate and rank universities, THE employs 13 performance metrics across four key areas: teaching, research, knowledge transfer, and international outlook. These criteria are also used in THEs World University Rankings.

Global Insights from THE Young University Rankings 2023

The 2023 edition of THE Young University Rankings comprises 605 universities from 78 countries. The top-ranked institute this year is Nanyang Technological University Singapore, with Hong Kong University of Science and Technology securing the 2nd position, and Paris Sciences et Lettres – PSL Research University Paris at 3rd place.

Country-wise Highlights

Hong Kong stands out with the highest number of institutes in the top 10, while France takes the lead in the top 20. Overall, Turkey has the most-represented universities with 47 institutions, followed by India with 45, and the UK with 39 universities.
