The Higher Education Commission HEC in Pakistan is gearing up to conduct the Law Admission Test LAT for aspiring candidates looking to secure admission in a five-year undergraduate LLB Degree Programme. This standardized test serves as a crucial stepping stone for prospective law students, aligning with the directives issued by the Supreme Court of Pakistan, making it a pivotal requirement for admission to HEC/PBC recognized public and private sector universities, as well as valid colleges affiliated with Public Sector Universities. Eligibility for LAT

To be eligible for the Law Admission Test, applicants must fall into one of the following categories:

Those who have successfully passed the Higher Secondary School Certificate HSSC or equivalent, also known as Grade 12 education.

Students who have appeared in the final examination of HSSC or equivalent Grade 12 education and are awaiting their results.

Test Pattern and Syllabus

The LAT comprises various sections designed to assess a candidates language proficiency, general knowledge, and other relevant skills. Heres an overview of the test pattern:

Essay: In this section, candidates can choose to write an essay either in English or Urdu. They are required to compose an essay of no more than 200 words, accounting for 15 marks.

Personal Statement: Similar to the essay section, applicants can select either English or Urdu to write a personal statement. This segment is worth 10 marks.

Multiple Choice Questions MCQs:

English: This section contains 20 MCQs, each with a word limit of 200 words.
Synonyms/Antonyms/Prepositions: Comprising 20 MCQs.
General Knowledge: 20 MCQs.
Islamic Studies: 10 MCQs.
Pakistan Studies: 10 MCQs.
Urdu: 10 MCQs, with a focus on vocabulary.
Math: 5 MCQs covering basic math concepts.
The total marks for the LAT are 100, with a passing threshold of 50 marks.

The Law Admission Test for the year 2023 is scheduled to take place on November 12th. Any alterations to the test date due to unforeseen circumstances will be communicated to candidates. Registered applicants will also receive email and SMS notifications regarding their test date, time, and venue.

The LAT will be administered in major cities across Pakistan. Applicants are given the liberty to select their preferred test/examination center during the registration process. However, its crucial to note that once a center is selected, it cannot be changed later.

Complete your profile using the My Profile section.
Submit your application using the Law Admission Test link on the menu panel in the left-hand sidebar of the online portal.
Ensure that you submit your application; applications left in SAVE or INCOMPLETE mode will not be considered for the LAT.

Test Fee Payment

Applicants are required to pay a test fee of Rs. 1800/- via participating banks, ATMs, internet banking, mobile banking, Easypaisa, JazzCash, or Upaisa. To make the payment, follow these steps:

Select the 1Link 1Bill Invoice payment service.

Sign in to your mobile app and click on Bill payment or payment services based on your mobile banking app options.

Choose 1Bill Invoice payment services and enter the consumer number generated by the ETC portal. Review the details and complete the payment.

After depositing the fee through 1Link 1Bill Invoice, click on Verify Online Payment on the ETC Dashboard. Its essential to note that the test fee is non-refundable and non-transferable.

The deadline for online registration is October 30, 2023, at 4 pm. Its mandatory to bring your original CNIC or passport to the test center on the examination day.
