Recent reports indicate that the start of the new academic year in Sindh may face a delay this year, as the printing process for textbooks has not yet commenced. The delay is attributed to ongoing issues between the Publisher and the Sindh Education Department. The students, teachers and parents should note the Textbook Printing Issues: Delay Anticipated for Starting of Academic Year in Sindh.

Textbook Printing Delay:

According to a local media outlet, the Sindh Education Departments Steering Committee is set to convene a meeting to address the challenges related to textbook printing. It is anticipated that the meeting will result in the approval of a plan to commence the academic year in August, allowing sufficient time for the resolution of printing issues.

Publisher-Education Department Conflict:

Sources reveal that the delay in printing textbooks is rooted in a conflict between the Publisher and the Education Department. The intricate issues at play have led to a situation where the printing and delivery of the necessary books, a process that typically takes four months, has yet to be initiated.

Inquiry into Textbook Selling:

In a related development, the Education Department initiated an inquiry into the alleged selling of free textbooks from the Sindh Text Board to scrap dealers in Badin District. The investigation was prompted after reports surfaced that textbooks meant for government school students were being sold to scrap dealers in Golarchi Tehsil, Badin District.

Seizure of Textbooks:

The inquiry resulted in the confiscation of the textbooks, as a video depicting the sale of free textbooks from the Sindh Text Board to scrap dealers gained widespread attention. The incident has raised concerns about the appropriate distribution and handling of educational materials intended for students in government schools.

The delay in textbook printing and the subsequent inquiry into textbook selling underscore the challenges faced by the education system in Sindh, potentially impacting the timely commencement of the academic year.
