Students Render Ineligible Due to Promotion without Exams

The interesting situation has arisen because of the promotion of huge number of students without their exams this year due to COVID-19 pandemic. The matric and inter classes students were promoted to the next classes as the annual exams were not possible in this pandemic situation across the country after closure of the educational institutes by the federal government of Pakistan. Karachi Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education announced the shocking results of both classes of SSC and HSSC, which left over 40,000 students in E and D grades and all these students are now facing the amazing situation because these students cannot apply for admission in the public and private universities according to the policies of HEC. The students were passed in Pre-Engineering, Commerce and Pre-Medical Exams but they could not get good marks and they passed their 12th class exams in science, commerce and humanities with overall 45% marks and their marks are very limited so how they can apply for admission in the universities.
HEC has also announced to abolish the bachelor degree two years programs in the universities in Pakistan and the students must have over 50% marks so that they can apply for admission in the public or private sector universities, recognized by HEC.
