The Karachi Shipyard & Engineering Works Limited KSEW has opened its doors to aspiring individuals with the launch of the Shipyard Training School. Aspiring to bolster the maritime workforce of Pakistan, the institution, registered and recognized by the Sindh Technical Education & Vocational Training Authority STEVTA and Trade Testing Board TTB, offers a range of short courses commencing from July 1, 2024.
Prospective students have the opportunity to delve into various trades through six-month duration courses, available in both morning 08:00 AM to 01:00 PM and evening 01:30 PM to 06:00 PM shifts. These courses, tailored to meet industry demands, cover a spectrum of skills crucial in the shipbuilding domain.
From AutoCAD Mechanical to Ship Diesel Mechanic, the curriculum encompasses essential aspects of shipbuilding and engineering. Students will master disciplines such as general electricity, arc welding, mechanical drafting, refrigeration, and air conditioning, among others. Applicants are required to meet minimum educational criteria, with a matriculation certificate serving as the baseline requirement. Additionally, candidates must fall within the age bracket of 16 to 35 years to be eligible for enrollment.
To secure a seat in their desired course, applicants must register by June 30, 2024, and pay a nominal fee. Those who opt for the full six-month advance payment are entitled to a 5% discount, incentivizing commitment and dedication to learning.
