PWWB Scholarships 2023 at COMSATS

The Punjab Workers Welfare Board PWWB is extending a valuable opportunity to laborers, miners, and their children by offering full scholarships for all degree programs at COMSATS Lahore and Islamabad Campuses under the PWWF initiative. This initiative reserves a commendable 30% quota in all single-degree programs specifically for workers or their offspring. The application deadlines for the COMSATS Worker Welfare Fund scholarships are December 20, 2023, for the Islamabad Campus and December 29 for the Lahore Campus. Seats under the Labor Quota admission on Scholarships are available in various campuses, including Islamabad, Lahore, Attock, Wah, Sahiwal, and Vehari. Financial Coverage:

The Labor Department of the Government of Punjab assumes responsibility for covering all expenses of PWWB Quota students. The PWWB Scholarship comprehensively covers tuition fees, hostel fees, and transportation costs.

Eligibility Criteria:

To qualify for the PWWB COMSATS Scholarship, workers must meet the following criteria:

Qualification as a labor department worker according to the definition in the Industrial Relations Act of 2010.
Possession of a valid social security card.
Minimum work experience of 1 year in a factory registered under the Factories Act 1934 or Mines Act 1923.
Organization recognition as a factory under the definitions of the Workers’ Welfare Fund Ordinance 1971 or the Companies’ Profit Workers Participation Act 1968.
Eligibility extends to children of deceased/disabled workers, provided the worker/miner was deceased/disabled during service, registered under EOBI/Social Security, and their widow/legal heir received Death Grant from Punjab Workers’ Welfare Board or pension from EOBI/Social Security.

Clean record:

The worker/miner or their child seeking admission should not have been involved in any illegal activity or criminal proceedings.

Application Process:

Candidates applying for this scholarship at the time of admission to all Single Degree Programs must submit the following set of documents along with their admission application form:

Worker/miner’s CNIC.
Worker/miner’s Social Security Card/Old Age Benefit Card.
Worker/miner’s Factory Card/Employee Card specifying their designation.
Worker/Miner’s Appointment Letter.
Factory Registration Certificate under the Factories Act 1934 or Mines Act 1923.
CNIC/Family Registration Certificate issued by NADRA of the prospective student.
Worker/miner’s Service Certificate and a certificate on their good moral conduct.
The candidate must sign an affidavit on Rs.20 Stamp Paper, affirming the commitment to repay all educational expenditures to the Labor Department if they discontinue their education.
In the case of a deceased/disabled worker/miner, proof of receiving a Death Grant/Disability Pension must be submitted.

Scholarship Continuation:
The PWWB COMSATS Scholarship is provided for a maximum of 8 semesters or the maximum duration of the student’s respective degree program. In case of course or semester repetition, students must adhere to CIIT rules and regulations regarding fee deposits.
