Punjab Workers Welfare Fund: Free Education Initiative for Industrial and Mine Workers and Their Children open admission for fall 2024

The Punjab Workers Welfare Fund PWWF, operating under the Department of Labor and Human Resources, Government of Punjab, has initiated an educational program in collaboration with COMSATS University. This initiative aims to provide 100% free education to the children of industrial and mine workers at various campuses of COMSATS University, including those in Islamabad, Abbottabad, Wah, Attock, Lahore, Sahiwal, and Vehari.

Admission Details for Fall 2024

Applications for the Fall 2024 semester are invited from eligible workers, miners, and their children. The program covers full educational costs, ensuring that the beneficiaries can pursue higher education without financial burden. The deadline for application submission varies by campus:

Islamabad Campus: 10th July 2024 Wednesday
Lahore Campus: 18th July 2024 Thursday
Wah and Abbottabad Campus: 1st August 2024 Thursday
Sahiwal, Vehari, and Attock Campus: 9th August 2024 Friday

Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for the program, applicants must fulfill the following criteria:

Worker Miners National Identity Card: Must be verified by the respective Center or Commissioner along with an attached affidavit.
Service Certificate: Issued by the concerned District Labor Office, certifying that the applicant is an industrial worker or miner.

Family Registration Certificate: Social Security Card or Old Age Benefits Card as proof of being a worker.
Disability or Death Grants: In case of disabled or deceased workers, relevant evidence or recommendations from the District Scrutiny Committee must be provided.
Employment Tenure: The worker must have been employed for at least three years.

For Deceased Miners Children: The widow must have received a death grant from the Punjab Workers Welfare Fund.
Disability Certificate: For handicapped miners, a disability certificate from a legal medical board is required

Application Process

Applicants are required to apply online through the respective COMSATS University campus website, adhering to the deadlines mentioned above. The completed application form, along with the necessary attested documents, must be submitted to the admission office of the concerned campus.
