Micro-Library Stations Set Up in Wazirabad
As part of the Chief Minister’s “Read Punjab Programme,” book racks have been placed in public parks and waiting areas at bus and railway stations throughout Wazirabad. Initially, 1,000 books are available at 15 locations for locals and visitors, with an additional 1,000 books set to be added within the next two to three months.
Encouraging Reading in Public Spaces
The primary aim of the program is to foster a culture of reading, especially in public spaces like parks and transport hubs. Rainproof covers have been installed over the book racks to protect the books from bad weather.
Cultural City Walls Erected to Showcase Heritage
In line with Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif&rsquos vision of promoting the cultural identity of small towns, special walls have been built in Wazirabad tehsil. These walls, such as the "Walls of Wazirabad," "Alipur Chatha," and "Gakhar," showcase the historical and cultural significance of these areas and serve as key cultural landmarks for the region.
