Punjab Modifies School Hours for Summer Season

The Punjab government has introduced a 30-minute reduction in school hours for the summer season, effective from April 7 to October 15. This change aims to provide relief to students and staff during the warmer months. The students can check the fresh information that Punjab Modifies School Hours for Summer Season.
According to a directive from the School Education Department SED, single-shift schools will now function from 7:30 AM to 1:00 PM from Monday to Thursday, while on Fridays, classes will conclude at 11:30 AM. Previously, school hours extended until 1:30 PM during summer.
For double-shift institutions, the morning shift will operate from 7:30 AM to 12:00 PM on weekdays and 7:30 AM to 11:30 AM on Fridays. Meanwhile, the afternoon shift will run from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM from Monday to Thursday, and on Fridays, it will be from 2:30 PM to 4:00 PM.
To ensure strict implementation, District Education Authority DEA officials have been instructed to monitor compliance. Schools that fail to follow the revised schools timing schedule may face disciplinary action.
Additionally, the notification permits a 15-minute flexibility in opening and closing hours for boys’ and girls’ schools, depending on local requirements.
