Punjab Medical and Dental Institutes New Admission Policy

The government of Punjab has introduced significant changes to the admission policy for public sector medical and dental institutes within the province. These revisions mark a departure from the previous policy that granted additional marks to Hafiz-e-Quran candidates during the merit calculation for admissions. The candidates can check the detailed information of Punjab Medical and Dental Institutes New Admission Policy.
New Admission Policy:
Under the revised admission policy, Hafiz-e-Quran candidates will no longer receive a 20-mark advantage in the merit calculation process. This change aligns with the decision made by the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council PMDC.
Background:
Its important to note that earlier in April, a suo motu case related to this matter was brought before a six-member bench of the Supreme Court of Pakistan. During the proceedings, the PMDCs lawyer, Afnan Kundi, informed the bench that the decision to award the additional 20 marks had already been rescinded. After considering the arguments presented, Justice Ijazul Ahsan, who headed the bench, concluded that there was no ongoing issue to address and subsequently closed the suo motu case.
