Punjab Declares Summer Break Due to Rising Temperatures

In light of the intensifying heatwave, the Government of Punjab has announced summer vacations for all schools in the province. Dates for Summer Holidays

The notification states that all public and private schools in Punjab will be closed from June 1, 2024, to August 14, 2024. This precautionary measure is in response to the forecasted extreme heatwave expected to hit the region soon.

Temporary Change in School Hours

Before the commencement of the summer break, school hours have been revised to protect students from the high temperatures. From May 18 to May 31, the revised timings are:

•          Monday to Thursday and Saturday: 7:00 AM to 11:30 AM

•          Friday: 7:00 AM to 10:30 AM

Schools to Reopen in Mid-August

All educational institutions, including government and private schools, will reopen on August 15, 2024. The notification is applicable to all schools throughout the province.
