Punjab College Offers Free Education for Workers Children

Punjab Group of Colleges PGC has introduced a commendable initiative by offering free education and hostel accommodations for the children of workers across the province. This initiative encompasses free education up to the intermediate level across more than 400 campuses of Punjab Colleges. University-level education is also included, with beneficiaries having access to the University of Central Punjab and the University of Biological and Applied Sciences. Eligibility Criteria:
To qualify for this scholarship, certain conditions must be met:
The applicant must be a certified worker under the Punjab Workers Welfare Fund.
They must fall within the definition of a "worker" as outlined in the Industrial Relations Act, 2010.
Additionally, they must be covered by either EOBI or Social Security.
They should have a minimum employment tenure of three years under the Factory and Factories Act, 1934, working as a laborer in a registered factory.
