The Zakat and Ushr Council of Punjab has recently approved a significant number of scholarships to support deserving students. These scholarships will benefit students pursuing intermediate, BS, and postgraduate studies, as well as those enrolled in professional institutions such as medical, engineering, and computer science programs. The decision was made during the 27th meeting of the council, chaired by Secretary Mian Abrar Ahmed. The students can get the latest updates regarding their Punjab 33,370 Scholarships Awarded for Deserving Students.

Approval of Scholarships:

During the meeting, the proceedings of the previous session were reviewed, and various issues were discussed, including the distribution of educational scholarships. These scholarships, amounting to over 133.4 million rupees, aim to provide financial assistance to students in need. Additionally, more than 12.2 million rupees were allocated to support 17,585 deserving students studying in religious madaris across 28 districts.

This committee consists of the Head of the Institution, a Class Teacher, and a nominee from the District Zakat Committee.

Application Process:

Eligible students can apply for the scholarship through the head of their educational institution. The Local Zakat Committee will assess the students eligibility Istehqaq. Once approved, the District Zakat Committee will release funds to the educational institution, which will then disburse the scholarship amount to the deserving student.

Stipend Rates:

The scholarship program offers different rates based on the level of education. Intermediate students receive an annual stipend of 6,000 PKR, while BS/graduate and postgraduate students are granted 12,000 PKR per annum.
