The Lahore Education Authority has rolled out a fresh set of regulations aimed at improving the standards of private educational institutions. These updated requirements, designed to ensure safety and hygiene, will be applied to all schools seeking registration under the new framework. In a policy meeting chaired by Lahore CEO Education, Nazir Hussain Chheena, it was decided that any private school applying for registration must submit valid and current building fitness and hygiene certificates. Authorities clarified that outdated documentation will no longer be accepted as proof of compliance.

Prominent figures from the private school sector—including representatives from Qazi School, Beaconhouse, The City School, and others—attended the meeting. Qazi Naeem Anjum voiced concern about mandatory school bus requirements for neighborhood institutions, stating that the financial burden could hinder smaller schools’ ability to meet registration demands.

In response, CEO Chheena underscored that owning and operating school buses would become a binding condition for new registrations. He also reiterated the importance of complying with the Free and Compulsory Education Act 2024, which mandates accessible education for all children in the province.
