Eligibility Conditions for Pakistan Marine Academy Admissions 63rd Batch, Session 2025-2026

The Pakistan Marine Academy PMA invites applications for the 63rd batch of Nautical Deck and Marine Engineering cadets for the session 2025-2026. This is an opportunity to join the Merchant Navy and explore the world while receiving top-notch training in nautical and marine engineering.

Eligibility Criteria
Nationality and Age
Nationality: Unmarried male citizens of Pakistan.
Age:
General candidates: Not more than 20 years as on 31 December 2024.
Candidates from FATA, Gilgit Baltistan, AJK, and Balochistan: Not more than 21 years as on 31 December 2024 One year age relaxation.
Academic Qualifications
FSc Pre-Engineering or A Level: Candidates must have passed with at least 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.
O/A Level Candidates: Must submit an Equivalence Certificate along with the application.
Part-Appearing Candidates: Candidates currently appearing for Part-II with at least 60% marks in Part-I can apply, provided they submit a Hope Certificate from the head of their respective college/institute.
Note: If a candidate fails to achieve 55% marks in FSc after providing a Hope Certificate, they will be disqualified at any stage of the selection process or discharged during training.
Registration Process
Application Form
Prospectus and Application Form: Available for download from the PMA website www.marineacademy.edu.pk and at the PMA Admission Office.
Submission: Submit the application form through courier services along with a pay order/bank draft of Rs. 3,500 in favor of Pakistan Marine Academy Karachi, National Bank of Pakistan NBP, PMA Branch Code-0239 Pay order/bank draft from any bank is accepted.
Self Finance Scheme SFS
Additional Fee: Candidates applying under the Self Finance Scheme SFS must submit an additional pay order/bank draft of Rs. 300,000 along with the application form.
Note: The SFS fee will be refunded if the candidate is selected on open-merit or does not meet PMA eligibility criteria.
Selection Procedure
Entrance Test
Test Locations: Abbottabad, Gwadar, Karachi, Lahore, Multan, Muzaffarabad AJK, Peshawar, Quetta, Rawalpindi, and Sukkur.
Qualification: Minimum 50% marks are required to qualify for the entrance test.
Medical Examination
Conducted for shortlisted candidates at designated Army/Navy hospitals.
Final Selection
Based on FSc marks, entrance test marks, medical examination, Physical Efficiency Test PET, and final interview.
Physical Efficiency Test PET:
Running: One mile 1.6 km in 06 minutes.
Push-ups: 15 repetitions in 02 minutes.
Sit-ups: 15 repetitions in 02 minutes.
Chin-ups: 04 repetitions.
Education and Training
Duration: 2 years of residential training at PMA.
Degrees/Certificates:
Associate Degree in Nautical Science and Marine Engineering by NED University of Engineering & Technology Karachi.
Certificates of International Maritime Organization IMO recognized Pre-Sea Mandatory Courses.
Scholarships
Need-based Scholarships: Sponsored by the Ministry of Maritime Affairs.

Ineligibility Conditions
Candidates will be considered ineligible if they:

Submit tampered academic certificates/mark-sheets/documents.
Conceal information or provide false/incomplete information in the application form.
Are withdrawn from any academy/training institution, including the Armed Forces, on disciplinary grounds or weak academic performance.
Are dismissed, removed, debarred, or resigned from government service, including the Armed Forces.
Are convicted by a court of law for an offense involving moral turpitude or any other offense.
Are non-combination of subjects and diploma holders DAE.
Are declared medically unfit by an Armed Forces hospital.
Are declared color blind.
Important Dates
Form Submission Deadline: 06th September 2024.
Entrance Test Date: 22nd September 2024 Sunday.
