Selection Process:

The selection process involves a thorough review and verification of applications by designated Focal Persons at the respective universities and higher education institutions HEIs. Following the initial screening, the Higher Education Commission HEC prepares a merit list using the online system. This merit list will be accessible online for reference.

Merit-Based Distribution:

Laptop distribution will be purely based on merit, rewarding academically bright students. The following criteria have been defined for the distribution process:

Merit-Based Distribution:

Laptops will be distributed based on merit in each degree program, including Ph.D., MS/M.Phil., and 16 years of education.

Quota Allocation:

The share of laptops will be determined according to university enrollment.

Each degree program will have a specific laptop quota, including University Quota, Campus Quota, Degree Program Quota, Department Quota, and Years-wise distribution.

Quota for Balochistan HEIs:

The Prime Ministers office has set a fixed quota of 14% 14,000 laptops for Balochistan HEIs.

Students from accredited universities in Balochistan will be accommodated under this allocated quota.

Allocation for Public Sector HEIs:

The remaining 86,000 laptops will be distributed among public sector HEIs based on their enrollment preferences.

The Prime Minister Laptop Scheme 2023 has witnessed an impressive number of student applications, reflecting the enthusiasm for obtaining laptops. With a focus on merit, the scheme aims to reward academically outstanding students across various degree programs, ensuring equal opportunities for deserving individuals.
