PhD Thesis Submission Online Working Process

The candidates, who are studying in the PhD program, they are preparing their PhD thesis, which they will submit online. The candidates need to follow the official email address of DPCC office and submit the thesis through info.dpcc@pu.edu.com and also to the controller office at ce@pu.edu.pk. The candidates need to submit the following documents for PhD theses through their supervisor, they respective dean, DPCC and finally to controller office. The candidates forward documents and thesis through email on info.dpcc@pu.edu.pk. The candidates note the process for PhD theses submission provisionally including the documents:

• Date of commencement of classes
• Synopsis approval letter
• Thesis PDF
• Plagiarism report

For submission and processing of PhD thesis, following documents are required:

• Plagiarism certificate/ plagiarism report from main library whatever applicable in your case
• PDF of complete thesis
• Date of commencement of PhD classes
• Synopsis approval letter
• Letter of extension if granted
• All educational documents (Matric to MPhil scanned copies)
• PhD course work transcript
• One paper published / submitted status as per required category of HEC (with supervisor letter that it is a part of PhD thesis)
• All other letters required for PhD thesis submission from supervisor, Head of the Department and student.
• Fee clearance (All challan forms of submitted fee)
• Letter of seminar conducted.

For Online viva voce / Public Defence
ASRB Decision
Minor Corrections

After submission of PhD theses, to settle minor corrections, send copy of thesis to supervisor and candidates and resubmit revised thesis with comments through supervisor dean to controller office, within the period of three months. Then the candidates are allowed for public defence or viva voce.

Major Corrections

After submission of the PhD thesis, to settle major corrections, send copy of thesis to supervisor and candidates and resubmit revised thesis through supervisor dean to controller office during the period of one year. The thesis is re-evaluated from concerned examiner and after this, the candidates are allowed for public defence or viva voce.

Both OK Reports

If both the reports are declared OK, the candidates are allowed for public defence or viva voce.

For the public defence / viva voce,

The candidates submit copy of PhD thesis to the panel of already approved examiners from ASRB and then ASRB approve the examiners, who are also approved by the vice chancellor. Obtain letter for viva voce / public defense from controller office to the Dean, HOD and examiners, supervisor and PhD scholar.

The supervisor / HOD decide the date of viva voce and public defense of the PhD candidates after completing consultation with two examiners. This decision is communicated to the controller office and dean. They note the requirements of record of online attendance and recording person from controller office. Dean / HOD make the arrangements of online viva voce / public defense. The reports will be submitted duly signed by the supervisor and examiners and the performa for controller office and other documents through dean / HOD official account. There, the clearance from DPCC office and controller office is required to fulfill all other formalities for issue of degree. Then the notification of the release of degree is issued.

For panel of examiners and extension cases / other cases. The PhD thesis is submitted through DDPC to the principal / director / chairman / chairperson through the DPCC e-mail, info.dpcc@pu.edu.pk, to the registrar office and after that it is submitted to the controller office.
