Pak Universities Shine in THE Young University Rankings 2023

Pakistani universities have garnered noteworthy recognition in the Times Higher Education THE Young University Rankings 2023, with a total of 48 institutions making their mark on the list. Among these, 22 universities have secured official ranks, while the remaining 26 have been assigned the status of a reporter, indicating their eligibility to be evaluated, although not meeting all ranking criteria. Top 500 Performance: Among the 22 ranked Pakistani institutes, an impressive 21 have secured positions within the top 500 of THE Young University Rankings 2023. Leading the pack is the University of Management and Technology UMT, followed closely by Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan and COMSATS University Islamabad.

Understanding Reporter Status:
Universities designated as reporters are those that provided the required data for assessment but did not meet all the eligibility criteria to receive an official rank on the 2023 list. Nonetheless, their participation highlights a commitment to transparency and continuous improvement.

THE Young University Rankings Methodology:

THE Young University Rankings evaluates the worlds best universities aged 50 or younger, using 13 performance metrics across four key areas: teaching, research, knowledge transfer, and international outlook. These criteria mirror those used to rank universities in the World University Rankings by THE.

Global Representation:

The 2023 edition of THE Young University Rankings includes a diverse array of 605 universities from 78 countries. Nanyang Technological University Singapore claims the top position this year, with Hong Kong University of Science and Technology in second place and Paris Sciences et Lettres – PSL Research University Paris ranking third. Notably, Hong Kong boasts the most institutions in the top 10, while France holds the most in the top 20.

Turkey holds the title for the most-represented nation overall, with 47 universities, followed by India with 45 institutes and the UK with 39 universities.
