2. Eligibility Criteria

To apply for admission through NUMS, students must meet the following eligibility criteria:

Open Merit:

Pakistani citizens, including AJK and Gilgit-Baltistan, can apply for open merit seats.
Passing MDCAT NUMS-2023, held on Sunday, 03 September 2023, is mandatory, with a pass percentage of 55% for MBBS and 50% for BDS programs.
A minimum of 60% aggregate marks in FSC Pre-Medical or its equivalent, with at least 12 years of education in subjects such as Biology, Chemistry, and either Physics or Mathematics.
Foreign Seats:

Foreign students are those who hold foreign/dual nationality or are overseas Pakistanis, having studied and passed the HSSC/12th grade examination or its equivalent from outside Pakistan.
Eligibility criteria are the same as for open merit, with the addition of MDCAT NUMS-2023 Held on 03 September 2023 or valid MCAT USA or valid UCAT UK.
Note: Special program seats predefined exclusively for foreign students do not require MDCAT; they can qualify via foreign MCAT or UCAT.

Merit Determination and Admission Schedule

Merit determination for admission to NUMS follows a weightage formula, with 50% based on the entrance test MDCAT NUMS 2023/MCAT/UCAT, where applicable, 40% from HSSC/F.Sc Pre-Medical/Equivalent, and 10% from SSC/Matric/Equivalent.

Possession of a CNIC is mandatory for students aged 18 and above at the time of admission.
Candidates with foreign qualifications, such as O/A Level, must upload the equivalence certificate issued by IBCC during the online application.
